Walla Walla University offers a variety of fitness and recreational opportunities to it’s students, staff, and faculty. Many facilities and programs are also available to the community.
Tausick Memorial Pool
The Tausick Memorial Pool, built in 1967, is 25 yards long and has 5 lanes. There is always a lifeguard on duty—a great job opportunity for WWU students. The pool has locker rooms for both student and community use which were remodeled in 2011.
The pool offers a space for WWU students to take classes in beginning and intermediate swimming, lifeguarding, and a course in water safety instruction.
The community is invited to use the pool when it is available for open swim, to join a water aerobics class, or to send their children to swimming lessons during the spring and summer.
Teri Kuhlman Fitness Center
The fitness center offers a Cybex Circuit, a free weight area, functional training area, and a variety of cardio machines. WWU students can take classes in circuit weight training and strength training. This area, which is constantly being updated and upgraded, is reserved for the students, staff, and faculty of Walla Walla University.
The fitness studio space is a great addition to the fitness center and is used for functional training, video workouts, and a variety of personal workouts. Available equipment includes Rip trainers, TRX straps, Plyo boxes, kettlebells, and other functional training equipment.
The WWU climbing wall, reserved for WWU students, faculty and staff, is 25 ft tall and offers routes ranging in difficulty from 5.4—5.11. Ropes, harnesses and shoes are available for rent. This facility is always staffed so guidance is always available. All abilities are welcome!
The gymnastics gym offers a loaded floor, Tumbl Track, and various other gymnastics apparatuses. This area is available to WWU students during open gym and students can take classes in tumbling and acrobatic gymnastics. WWU students with previous gymnastics experience are employed teaching Kidnastics—a program open to the community.
