Windows 7- Click the Start menu and type "VPN" and select Set up a virtual private network (VPN) connection
- You need to specify the internet address to point to as well as give the VPN a name. Input the following:
- Internet Address: vpn.wallawalla.edu
- Destination Name: WWU VPN
- Check Don't connect now; just set it up so I can connect later
- Click Next
- Put in your WWU username and password. Also make sure the Domain field reads SKYNET
- If successful you will see the following message:
Windows XP
- Click Start and open Control Panel
- Choose Network Connections
- Click File and select New Connection
- When the connection wizard pops up click Next
- Choose Connect to the network at my workplace and click Next
- In the preceding window select Virtual Private Network connection and click Next
- Now we have to name our connection: WWU VPN
- Next we have to put in the address that the VPN connects to: vpn.wallawalla.edu
- Leave the use settings alone and click Next
- For ease of use select the "Add a shortcut…" checkbox. This adds the VPN connection to your desktop
- You should now have an icon on your desktop called "WWU VPN"
