Walla Walla University will hold events to celebrate National Engineers Week, February 16-20.
On Tuesday, February 17, WWU will sponsor their annual Engineers Week Dinner to be held at Reid Campus Center on the campus of Whitman College in Walla Walla. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and features keynote speaker Keith Willard, Vice President of Technology for McKesson, a Fortune 20 health care company. Tickets are required for this event.
At 12 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, the university’s annual Engineering Egg Drop will take place on the Kretschmar Lawn on the north side of Kretschmar Hall. This event is an opportunity to explore the field of engineering through the design and construction of a device to protect a raw egg from a fall. The device – including the egg – will be thrown from a 30-foot high building toward a target on the ground. The closer the egg gets to the target the higher the score. This event is free and open to the public.
