WWC Sponsors David James Duncan
Appearance at Walla Walla Public Library
By: Tara Jeske
Walla Walla College is sponsoring a visit by Northwest author David James Duncan Saturday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Walla Walla Public Library.
Duncan’s visit will cap off the library’s Walla Walla Reads program, which currently has community members reading Duncan’s book, “River Teeth,” a collection of short stories and personal reminiscences. Copies of the book are available to check out at the public library, and are for sale at the Walla Walla College Store.
The Walla Walla Reads program is designed to encourage adults to read for pleasure. “Many people have gotten out of the habit of reading, so they don’t have a place for it in their day,” says Beth Hudson, reference librarian at the Walla Walla Public Library, “This is just an opportunity. Hopefully they’ll catch the bug again and keep reading.”
David James Duncan is also the author of “The Brothers K,” “The River Why,” and “My Life as Told by Water.”
