Thomas to Speak for Adventist Forum
Theology Professor to Speak About Fundamentalism
Walla Walla Adventist Forum presents speaker David Thomas for its first event of the new year. Thomas, professor of theology and apologetics at Walla Walla University, will present "Fundamentalism Re-visited: Friend or Foe?"
In his presentation, Thomas, who is also dean of WWU's School of Theology, will focus on the nature of fundamentalism, its cause and driving force, its future, and its benefits to society and religion.
The lecture will be held Sabbath, Jan. 12, at 4 pm. in Room 154 (lecture hall) of Chan Shun Pavilion at Walla Walla University.
The event is free and open to the public.
Thomas joined the faculty of WWU in 2001. Before coming to the university, he spent 24 years in pastoral ministry, 17 of those in New England. He was born to British missionary parents on the continent of Africa where he spent the first 19 years of his life.
Adventist Forum is an independent organization whose mission is to "foster community through conversation and a renewal of genuine Adventism that impacts the world for Jesus. Prompted by the grace and peace of Jesus, we will embrace a commitment to spiritual purpose, engage in thoughtful conversation, and champion a renewal that encourages effective and faithful service."
