Rice for Cambodia a Success
Thousands will be fed
The Musicianaries team makes a trip to Cambodia to distribute rice.
Positive Life Radio’s (PLR) fund-raising campaign, Rice for Cambodia, recently brought in a total of $82,393.32 to purchase rice for victims of flooding in Cambodia. The money will purchase 317 tons of rice, or 12,675 50-pound bags of rice. Each 50-pound bag will feed a family of four for four to six weeks.
PLR partners in this campaign with Musicianaries International, Inc., a non-profit organization founded by Christian recording artist Bobby Michaels in order to promote the gospel through concerts and evangelism.
PLR listeners donated $78,009.32 of the funds raised, with the remaining $4,383.00 raised by concerts performed by Bobby Michaels. Thousands of hungry families will be fed thanks to their generosity and efforts.
“We will be able to make a huge difference in thousands and thousands of people’s lives on this next trip to Cambodia!” says Bobby Michaels, “We are humbled by the outpouring of the PLR listeners’ love and concern for the Cambodian people through their generous pledges.”
Musicianaries team members who travel to Cambodia to distribute the rice do not stop at feeding the physical body, but also nourish the Cambodian people spiritually, providing them with the Gospels of John and Luke in the Khmer language.
This is the third year PLR has raised funds for Rice for Cambodia. “All of us at PLR are absolutely amazed and blessed at what has happened with this mission project,” says Kevin Krueger, PLR station manager, “Listeners contributed much more than we ever would have dreamed possible. Now we’re looking forward to the mission trip itself, in February- imagining the smiles of 50,000 Cambodians receiving rice and hearing Christ-centered music.”
