March Art Show: "Work Surfaces"
art show features pottery instructor Steve Miller
A mixed-media exhibition by local artist and Walla Walla College pottery instructor Steve Miller debuts this month at the Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery, 200 S. College Ave., on the WWC campus.
The show, entitled “Work Surfaces,” features ceramic vessels, as well as drawings and paintings on paper and canvas. An opening reception will be held Thursday, March 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.
“The works use the still-life theme as a vehicle for painting along modern themes of color relationships and creating space using objects to evoke meaning and feeling,” says Miller. “I often wonder if my subjects are things that are constantly around me, and then, finally end up in my paintings.”
“Work Surfaces” will be on display from March 8 to April 12. Gallery hours are Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday from 2-5 p.m., Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., or by appointment. For more information call (509) 301-2363.
