Library Introduces New Website
New features make library online even easier
By: Christy Berry
At the beginning of summer 2008, the Walla Walla University Library unveiled their new website. This website is designed to be more user-friendly, allowing for quick links to the most used library resources.
Features include a Summit catalog, links to library databases for assistance finding journal, magazine, and newspaper articles under ‘Search & Find,’ and a searchable periodical subscription list in ‘Journal AtoZ.’
Users may also try out the ‘Quick Catalog Search’ by typing in a keyword, title, author, etc. Submitting a search from this green box will take a user directly into the main Walla Walla University Library Catalog. If you prefer to begin with a more detailed search, select ‘More Search Options’, which will take you straight into an advanced keyword search.
Accessing your library account is incredibly easy now. On the left Navigation Bar under Related Links you can click on ‘Access Your Account’ and it will direct you to your library account. There you can find information about your Summit requests, and you can also renew items you have checked out from the library.
If you’re not familiar with all that the library has to offer, under ‘Services for Library Users,’ choose whether you are a student, faculty, staff, or distance learning student, and learn more of how the library can help you.
If you’ve never used the library’s website, the ‘How do I…?’ section under ‘Help’ will take you to a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page where some of your questions may be answered. Or, if you just want to know the hours the library is open, click on ‘Hours’ under ‘About the Library’ for concise hours of the library all quarter, including during breaks and holidays.
If you are still having trouble finding the information you need, visit the library in person or give them a call at 509-527-2134, and they will be happy to help.<//font>
