Guest poetry reading Thursday
with G.C. Waldrep and Kevin Craft

The Walla Walla College Humanities Department will host a poetry reading with two up-and-coming poets Thursday, March 2.
Poets G.C. Waldrep and Kevin Craft will read selections of their work at 7 p.m. in Chan Shun Pavilion, Room 154. The reading is free and open to the public.
Waldrep’s poems have won many prizes, including awards from the Academy of American Poets. His book “Goldbeater’s Skin” received the 2003 Colorado Prize for Poetry and a Greenwall grant from the American Academy of Poets. Waldrep has spent many years living in an Amish Community in North Carolina and currently divides his time between North Carolina and Iowa.
Craft is an English instructor at Everett Community College and is the recipient of two prominent poetry fellowships; one is from the Bogliasco Foundation and the other from Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission. His book “Solar Prominence” won the Samuel and Rhea Gorsline Prize from Cloudbank Books in 2004.
