Christmas in July Food Drive Coming July 25
Collected Items Will Go to Blue Mountain Action Council for Distribution
There’s no need for snow, colored lights, a wreath or even two turtle doves to capture the holiday spirit during the warm days of July. Instead, Positive Life Radio 91.3 invites everyone to participate in a day of giving during the annual Christmas in July Food Drive.
On July 25, from noon until 6 p.m., Positive Life Radio will collect donations at Super 1 Foods at 710 S. 9th Ave. in Walla Walla.
“Nonperishable food items are best,” says Sali Miller, promotions director. “We’re also looking for toiletries—especially products for women and children.”
Items will go to Blue Mountain Action Council in Walla Walla for distribution.
As in years past, the station will play Christmas favorites from noon to 6 p.m. and also broadcast live call-in reports from many of the drop-off points across the Inland Northwest.
“This is a great opportunity to lend a helping hand,” Miller says. “We encourage everyone to start collecting at businesses, churches, neighborhoods and homes.”
Last year, listeners donated 23,650 pounds of food, toiletries and miscellaneous items to help stock regional food banks.
