Randy Roberts to Share How to Make Bible Study Come Alive
Randy Roberts, senior pastor of the Loma Linda University Church, will be speaking about Bible literacy during three upcoming sessions on the Walla Walla University campus.
His series is titled “Collapsing the Distance: An Inductive Approach to Scripture, Getting Into the Bible – Getting Out of the Bible.” Roberts will address issues such as how to make Bible study come alive and connect to daily life.
According to Roberts, indications are that Biblical illiteracy is at an all-time high. Many people simply don’t read or study the Bible. For many this is not for a lack of interest, but for lack of understanding.
The first session is a WWU School of Theology Colloquium to be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 18, in Room 154 of Chan Shun Pavilion.
The second and third presentations, sponsored by Walla Walla Adventist Forum, will be held at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m on Sabbath, April 20, in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. (These are not repeating sessions.) These sessions will be hosted by Carl and Aileen Bauer, forum volunteers.
As senior pastor of the LLU church, Roberts leads one of the largest Adventist churches in the nation. Through Internet and television, his messages reach thousands worldwide.
