15th Annual Alumni Car Show
150 Vehicles to Showcase in Alumni Weekend Competition
By: Hilary Nieland
The 15th Annual Alumni Car Show will take place Sunday, April 27, along Fourth Street near the Havstad Alumni Center. The show will feature around 150 vehicles entered by alumni, students, and the community. The cost to enter a vehicle into the competition is $5, and the event is free to attend.
Several Walla Walla Univeristy clubs are involved in the car show. The Auto Club is helping organize the event and will sell hot drinks and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. ASWWU (Associated Students of Walla Walla University) will host a face painting booth, OPS (men’s residence hall club) will sell popcorn, and Student Missions will sell Italian sodas.
Winners will be chosen based on the people’s votes. The eight award categories are oldest, most unusual, work horse, best in show, antique, vintage, classic, and modern.
Tammie McMann of WWU’s advancement office says that the event is a great way to “span the years between young and old, and connect and invite the community to be a part of our university family.”
