What's in the residence hall?Rooms, over 200 rooms! Each room has two twin beds, two desks, two built-in dressers and closet(s) to fill with anything and everything. There are laundry and ironing rooms on almost every floor, and if you get the urge to be culinary there are several kitchenettes in both buildings. Foreman Hall has a TV room, a snack machine, and a fitness center. Both Foreman and Conard have soda machines, ice machines, and plenty of sofas on which to veg-out. The Chapel is located in Conard Hall. What will I need to bring with me?Everything but the kitchen sink? Perhaps not, but remember your room will be your home for the next school year. Basic things you'll need: sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, a telephone, and an alarm clock for those early morning classes. You'll want things to make your room feel homey, so pack up pictures, posters, carpeting, stuffed animals, CD's and tapes, something to play them on, of course, and everything else you think you might want at college. Feel free to bring a small refrigerator and a microwave oven for those times when you need food and the cafeteria is closed. Do I have to bring drapes?Women living in both Foreman and Conard Halls can bring drapes, but blinds are already in place. Are there things I can't bring?
When can I move in?You can move into your room on or after September 16. We do ask that you refrain from moving in or out on the Sabbath. Special arrangements must be made with the housing director to arrive before September 16. What if I've decided not to come?As a new student, if you decide not to move into the dorm, please notify the Housing Director before September 1 and your entire room deposit will be refunded. It is your personal responsibility to get coverage through your own personal policy from an insurance broker or your parents' homeowner's insurance. What about phones?
