About Helpline
Helpline was formed by the Walla Walla University Church and the Walla Walla University School of Social Work and Sociology in 1973. It continues today as the primary screening and referral agency a key provider of direct emergency social services for people in Walla Walla County.

Helpline operates with broad-based community support, including more than 20 churches from a variety of denominations and traditions, the United Way of Walla Walla County, contracts with partner agencies, grants from local, national, and international foundations, and direct and endowed contributions by individuals and businesses throughout the Walla Walla Valley and beyond. It is registered as a non-profit charitable coroporation with the State of Washington and is governed by an 11-member board of directors.

The Mission of helpline is to AFFIRM the worth of every person; ADDRESS the needs of individuals, families and our community; and ADVOCATE for positive life transformation.
