Who may use Interlibrary Loan?
*Undergraduate and graduate students are limited to five requests per week.
Availability We absorb shipping and handling costs for material from free libraries. If it is impossible to get your item from a free library, we will contact you to approve or decline additional charges and thereby the loan of the item. You are responsible for all fees associated with damaged, lost, presumed lost or overdue items. This includes overdue fines charged by the lending library as well as a $1.00 a day charge from Walla Walla University Library. Unclaimed items will be subject to a $5.00 pick-up fee. Top
Overdue, lost, and/or damaged items loaned between campuses carry fines equal to those at Peterson Memorial, our main library: Top Summit (Orbis Cascade Alliance Union Catalog) Summit is a library catalog that merges the holdings of over 30 Pacific Northwest academic libraries into one collective database. As Walla Walla University is a member of the Alliance, we strongly encourage our College Place and Portland patrons to use the system. Therefore, for these patrons the Interlibrary Loan Department will not process items that may be ordered through Summit, with the exception of community patron requests. To access and order materials from the Summit catalog click here; and to find out more about using Summit click here. Top Returning and Renewing Photocopies are yours to keep. Books, microforms, and videos MUST be returned to the Circulation Desk by the date due. If a renewal is needed, call the Reference Office at least three days before the book is due. Notice of the renewed date will be given via email. This information should be immediately attached to the material. Note: Not all libraries will allow renewal on material sent for ILL purposes. Failure to return ILL material on time creates poor relations with other libraries, puts our library in bad standing, and may eliminate a library as a source of materials. An individual may be subject to overdue fines from Walla Walla University and the lending library and may lose ILL service if there is a consistent failure to return ILL material in a timely manner.
