Book Request Form

(1) The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs The purpose of the interlibrary loan service (ILL) is to obtain materials that are not available at Walla Walla University Library, yet are needed for either course work or faculty/staff research at Walla Walla University. Request Limit Undergraduate and graduate students are each allowed up to five requests per week. All submitted requests are prioritized on a "need by" basis. Charges " We will not order from libraries with lending fees without first obtaining your consent " You will be responsible for any fees associated with damaged, lost or presumed lost, or overdue items " Unclaimed ILL materials will produce a service charge of $5.00 " Overdue items will yield a $1.00 a day fine from the Walla Walla University Library ILL Department in addition to any fines imposed by owning library. Delivery Time (Variable) " Returnable loans (books, microforms, videos, etc.) generally take 10-14 days from their order date to arrive " Articles generally take 3-10 days from their order date to arrive " Notification of arrival is sent via email Returning and Renewing " Photocopies are yours to keep " Returnable loans (books, microforms, videos, etc.) MUST be returned to the Circulation Desk by the date due listed on the item's bookstrap " If a renewal is needed, contact the Interlibrary Loan Department at least three days before the book is due " Notice of the renewed date will be given via email and the information should be immediately attached to the material Note: Not all libraries will allow a renewal on material sent for ILL purposes. Failure to return ILL material on time creates poor relations with other libraries, puts our library in bad standing, and may eliminate a library as a source of materials. An individual will lose ILL service if there is a consistent failure to return ILL material in a timely manner. Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions: (1) The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. (2) Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. (3)This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
