Biography:

Since 1986 Kraig Scott has served as professor of organ, harpsichord, and music history at Walla Walla College as well as minister of music at Walla Walla College Church. He has played organ recitals in Canada, Korea, Germany, Holland, and across the United States. Recent performances include the 2004-05 annual All Bach organ recital at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle as well as recitals at Pacific Lutheran University; Central Lutheran Church in Eugene, Oregon; Rutgers University; the University of Alberta in Edmonton; Anchorage Lutheran Church; and Christ Church Episcopal, New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 2002 he played a series of European recitals in Germany and The Netherlands described in the German press as "virtuoso music brilliantly played."

As a harpsichord collaborator Scott's recent performances include appearances with Spokane's Allegro Baroque and Beyond; and with Un Trio Barocco at the 2003 Madeleine Festival, Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City. In October 2004 he participated in the inaugural performance of Walla Walla Baroque, an organization he co-founded to bring historically informed performances of baroque music to the Walla Walla valley.

In addition to his work at Walla Walla College, Kraig Scott serves as adjunct professor of organ at Whitman College and director of music at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Walla Walla.

An alumnus of WWC, Scott also received an M.Mus. in early keyboard instruments at University of Oregon, an M.A. in historical musicology and a D.M.A. in organ from the Eastman School of Music where he also received the coveted Performer's Certificate, and the Jerald C. Graue Fellowship for outstanding work in musicological research. His teachers include Melvin K. West, Lanny Collins, John Hamilton, David Craighead, Russell Saunders, and Arthur Haas.
