James Durkee

James Durkee holds a graduate certificate from G.I.T. and a B.M. in guitar performance (Cum Laude) from Central Washington University where he has taught since l992. He is also on the faculty of Walla Walla College and Yakima Valley College. He has performed numerous solo guitar and chamber recitals in the U.S.A. and Japan. He was also a founding member of the Yakima Valley Classical Guitar society and held the office of president of the organization for an unprecedented five consecutive years. His students have earned the highest honors in national and state competitions. Mr. Durkee studied guitar with Steven Novacek at the University of Washington. In 1998, he released a CD, "James Durkee: The Authentic Classical Guitarist". His latest CD release: "J. S. Bach Suites & Partitas" is receiving warm welcoming reviews.
