WALLA WALLA UNIVERSITY
DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
The WWU Department of Biological Sciences exists primarily for the training of undergraduate and graduate students in experimental and field sciences in a Christian setting. The objectives of the department are to: 1) develop an understanding of the principles of biology that will better acquaint students with the world in which they live;
2) create an atmosphere conducive to individual investigation; 3) prepare department majors for graduate and professional education, teaching, and careers in the biological sciences.
The department offers a Master of Science degree in biology, a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, and jointly with other departments Bachelor of Science degrees in biochemistry, bioengineering, and biophysics. A minor in biology also is available. Students have exceptional opportunities for study in the biological sciences during the summer at the Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory, adjoining Deception Pass State Park, Anacortes, Washington.
The study of life is an exciting and growing challenge in the 21st century. We want to share with you our passion for biology as together we widen our understanding of the natural world.
