(B.A. & M.S.W, Walla Walla College; M.Div., Andrews University; Ph.D. Claremont, Theology and Personality)
Darold Bigger pastored for 22 years, more than half that time as senior pastor of the Walla Walla University Church, before joining the faculty full-time. He teaches in the areas of Pastoral Administration, Seventh-day Adventist Beliefs, Theology and Spirituality. In 2013 he began dividing his time between teaching and a new assignment as Assistant to the President of the University. Retired as a Rear Admiral from the Navy Reserve Chaplain Corps, in his last assignment he served as the senior chaplain of the U.S. Navy Reserve, responsible for religious ministry to more than 100,000 Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine reservists. His additional exposure to hospital and prison chaplaincy makes him our Resident Chaplain Advocate and Coach.
Barbara, Darold's wife, retired Director of the U-Shop, now is a very busy grandmother and caregiver to two parents. Their daughters Shannon (deceased) and Hilary Catlett graduated from WWU.
