Series of Culinary Shorts to Open May 10
Directly from the renowned Humana Festival 2012, wwudrama brings “Oh, Gastronomy!” to the Walla Walla University stage. Written by Michael Golamco, Carson Kreitzer, Steve Moulds, Tanya Saracho, and Matt Schatz, “Oh, Gastronomy!” is a series of 22 individual and interconnected shorts celebrating the way we experience food.
These shorts examine culinary experiences from several angles, including a pie eating competition, a food truck romance, an artisanal food support group, a CSA rap battle and more. In addition, there are opportunities for audience participation.
“Whoever you are and however you live, food is a great unifier; everybody eats. The subject of food, in all its glorious complexity, forms the jumping-off point for “Oh, Gastronomy!” Every year, Actors Theatre of Louisville commissions a group of playwrights…to collaborate on a new piece…for the Humana Festival of New American Plays… “Oh, Gastronomy!” combines these ingredients in a robust dramatic stew, exploring food’s complexities while celebrating its most enduring pleasures. ” - Inside Actors, “Actors Theatre of Louisville”
Audience members will have the opportunity to win food and gift cards to local cuisine, both through random giveaways and audience participation.
