performs at 4th of July event

Hundreds of people flocked to Walla Walla’s Pioneer Park on the Fourth of July to hear Christian recording artist Scott Krippayne.

The free concert was sponsored by Christian radio station Positive Life Radio. This was the 12th time PLR has put on the event and the second time it featured Krippayne.

His music is a strong, piano-based pop, and the concert included some familiar favorites suck as “Sometimes He Calms the Storm,” “I’m Not Cool,” and “May I Have This Dance,” as well as songs from his newest album, Gentle Revolution. One of those, “Renee,” began in a Lost Angeles’ Starbucks after a brief encounter with actress Renee Zellweger and is Krippayne’s attempt to explore the reality behind the myth of fame.

“The concert was really good,” says Bryan Brashear, Positive Life Radio street team leader. “It really seemed to hit home with the crowd, especially the parts about family values.” In fact, Krippayne even brought his family to the concert, at one point calling his son Tyler and daughter Tobey onto the stage to help with a song.

After the concert, Krippanye could be found with the staff at the PLR booth, signing autographs and meeting fans.

“I got to hang out in the booth with Scott,” says Brashear. “We talked about song writing and his journey as a Christian artist. He has an interesting story and visiting with him was a lot of fun.”

The Positive Life Radio Network operates out of the Walla Walla College campus, providing valuable experience for students as well as continually broadcasting positive Christian music to Eastern Washington. PLR can be heard in Walla Walla on 91.3 FM or live on the Internet anywhere in the world at
