David Lindstrom

David Lindstrom knows what it’s like to work with job seekers. He’s been a hiring manager and also coached people looking for work. Lindstrom is bringing those skills and experiences to his new role as director of Walla Walla University’s Career Center.

“I’m looking forward to working directly with students, and I’ll also be working with employers, building contacts for both employment and cooperative education opportunities,” Lindstrom says.  Lindstrom will also be looking for more ways to connect alumni to Career Center services.

Lindstrom earned two degrees from WWU. He graduated in 1997 with majors in psychology and religion, and in 1999 he completed a master’s degree in psychology.

Most recently, Lindstrom was admitting and patient access manager at Tillamook Regional Medical Center in Tillamook, Ore., where he supervised a staff of 35 in seven locations.

Since 2007 he has also worked as an adjunct professor at Tillamook Bay Community College, where he taught general psychology classes.

Lindstrom’s other Tillamook-based experience also includes working as a manager at the Oregon Employment Department where he matched job seekers with employers, organized job seeking seminars, served as the county representative to the Oregon Employment Department, among other duties.

He also has worked in social services, serving as a treatment manager for Oregon Youth Authority, and in Walla Walla, as resource manager for the County Department of Human Services.

Lindstrom and his wife, Heidi, have two sons.  Cameron is attending Rogers Adventist School and Alexander is a high school graduate.

WWU’s Career Center is located in Kretschmar Hall. For more information about the center’s services, see career.wallawalla.edu
