The BS in chemistry provides the strongest background for students pursuing a career in chemistry or a related science.  A selection of advanced elective courses is available to prepare students for advanced study and research in graduate school.

The BA in chemistry is less concentrated than the BS degree, and is often chosen by students considering a health-related profession such as dentistry, medicine, or osteopathy, or may be planning to teach science at the secondary level.  A minor is required in some other field, along with a foreign language competency.
