Instructor for Technology
M.S.W.—Walla Walla University—2000
Dave's formal education is varied. He has an M.S.W. from WWU in Social Work with Licensing in Chemical Dependency Counseling. His undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Personal Ministries from Atlantic Union College.
Prior to these degrees, Dave trained for employment in the machining and fabrication industry. He was employed as a power plant machinist for 13 years and carried a license as a Stationary Engineer for boilers. His certifications include Welding, Electrician, Instrumentation, and Rigging. As shop supervisor, Dave was in charge of all apprenticeships for State Certification in Welding, Machining, Electrician, Rigging, and Instrumentation.
Dave loves teaching for Walla Walla University in the Department of Technology. He says, "I don't golf and I can't afford to restore classic cars, so I come down here [the metals lab] to play!"
When Dave is not "playing" in the metals lab, he can be found out riding his '05 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy or simply hanging out with his great family—wife Deborah, son Ashley and daughters Judy, Samantha and Devin. He is also involved in our local animal rescue organization, SWAT.
