Merlin Knowles

Merlin L. Knowles joined the Walla Walla University Board after his election as the President of the Montana Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in October 2010.
He has served the Seventh-day Adventist Church as a pastor in the Idaho and New England Conferences and as executive secretary, trust services director, and family ministries co-director with his wife, Cheryl, for the Northern New England Conference.
Knowles has a rich history in the Northwest, attending schools in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Theology from Walla Walla University in 1979 and a Masters of Divinity from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
Merlin and Cheryl have two grown sons who reside with their families in Idaho. They are expecting their second grandchild in February.
