The main campus of Walla Walla University sits on a 55-acre tract of land in College Place, Wash., in the southeastern corner of Washington state. The area boasts a rich agricultural industry producing wheat, fruit and the famous "Walla Walla Sweet Onions."
Only three miles down the road lies the bustling metropolis of Walla Walla, with a population of 28,700 people. In 2001, Walla Walla was awarded "The Great American Mainstreet Award," and has been recognized in several nationwide publications as a unique vacation destination. And with three colleges and universities in the area, Walla Walla has a host of music, art, and cultural opportunities.
