Gordan Lacey joined the Walla Walla University Board of Trustees in 2006. Never one to sit by and watch things happen, as a student at WWU (1981-1986), Lacey served on the Student Senate and was president of the Married Students Club. He graduated summa cum laude, attaining a Bachelor of Science in engineering, with recognition as a member of Who’s Who Among America’s Universities. Lacey was also awarded a Consulting Engineers Council of Washington State Scholarship.
Lacey went to work for Fluke Corporation in 1986 as a test engineer and manager in the handheld multi-meter division, providing design qualification and development of the factory production line.
In 1994, he was recruited by the Microsoft Corporation to work as Test Engineering Manager on PC hardware peripherals, components, and other software and hardware integration projects.
Lacey has contributed to several patents and has received outstanding awards of recognition of achievement from both companies, and was included in the 2005-2006 Global Registry of Who’s Who.
While residing in Everett, Wash., Lacey has served both as school board chair and treasurer for Forest Park Adventist School. He is also currently serving a second term as a board member on the Washington Conference Sunset Lake Youth Camp Operating Committee.
Lacey now lives in Redmond, Wash., with his wife, Sherry (Sievers) Lacey, and their daughter, Jillian. He and his wife were actively involved with youth Sabbath Schools and Pathfinders since 1977, “retiring” from Pathfinders as area coordinators in 2001.
The couple are members of the Bellevue SDA Church, and continue to contribute by filling various positions within the church.
